PHILADELPHIA — The nation heard the Philadelphia Eagles rally cry during a town hall event in Delaware County with Vice President Kamala Harris Tuesday night.

Harris, as part of her presidential bid, participated in a town hall event Tuesday in Aston.

One attendee, Temple University student Elkan Pleat, was allowed to pose the presidential hopeful a question. But before going into his question about Harris' time as the Attorney General of California, he gave a shoutout to the Eagles, who are 3-2 and take on the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday.

"Hi. First of all, Go Birds," Pleat said into the microphone.

The interjection garnered a smile from Harris, who went on to discuss California's Bureau of Children’s Justice.

Pleat in fact is not a Philadelphia area native. He himself is from California. But we will always welcome converts to the Bird Gang.

Former President Donald Trump is scheduled to appear at an event in Drexel Hill next week, so we may see another callout to Philadelphia sports on the national political stage.
