Hahnemann University Hospital Closing: Report
After opening in 1848 and serving as Drexel's teaching hospital, the healthcare facility is closing its doors.
PHILADELPHIA — After being open for more than 170 years, Hahnemann University Hospital is set to close, according to a new report.
The Philadelphia Inquirer reports senior staff at the hospital were alerted to the closure Wednesday.
Sept. 6 has been proposed as a closing date, according to the Action News

The hospital was founded in 1848 and served as a teaching hospital for Drexel University.
A lawsuit filed by Drexel that sought to keep the hospital open was thrown out Tuesday, meaning the closure is moving ahead, according CBS Philadelphia.
