I-76 East Lane Closing Overnight For Paving Work: PennDOT
A lane on Interstate 76 east in Philadelphia will close overnight this week due to work on a major road resurfacing project, PennDOT said.
PHILADELPHIA — A portion of Interstate 76 east in Philadelphia will have a lane closure overnight this week due to paving work, PennDOT said.
According to PennDOT, I-76 east will have a lane closure between the Belmont Avenue and Montgomery Drive interchanges.
The lane will close from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.

Work will be done Monday through Thursday.
This is part of a $36.8 million project to resurface and repair nearly five miles of the interstate, the associated on-and-off ramps, and more than 20 bridges.

In addition, a shoulder closure will be in place on sections of eastbound I-76 between the City Avenue/U.S. 1 South and Girard Avenue interchanges Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for guiderail installation and utility construction.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays may occur.
All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
