I-76 Ramps, Lanes Closing Overnight In Philadelphia This Week: PennDOT
PennDOT said road resurfacing and repair work will impact traffic on parts of Interstate 76 and its ramps overnight this week, PennDOT said.
PHILADELPHIA — Interstate 76 in Philadelphia will have ramp and lane closures overnight this week due to a road resurfacing and repair work project, PennDOT said.
Below are the impacts affecting Interstate 76 this week:are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Monday and Tuesday, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, the ramp from Girard Avenue/Philadelphia Zoo to eastbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) will be closed and detoured for guiderail installation. Drivers will be directed to use Girard Avenue, Belmont Avenue and Montgomery Drive to access the ramp to eastbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway).
- Monday and Tuesday, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, the ramp from southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) to westbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) will be closed and detoured for bridge deck and concrete repairs. Drivers will be directed to use eastbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) and exit at Montgomery Drive to access westbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway).
- Monday through Friday, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on eastbound and westbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) between the U.S. 1 South (City Avenue) and Girard Avenue/Philadelphia Zoo interchanges for milling, paving and guiderail installation.
- Tuesday and Wednesday, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, the ramp from westbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) to Montgomery Drive will be closed and detoured for paving. Drivers will be directed to continue west on I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway), exit at Belmont Avenue and use eastbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) to access Montgomery Drive.
- Tuesday through Friday, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on eastbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) between the Belmont Avenue and U.S. 1 North (Roosevelt Expressway) interchanges for bridge deck repair.
- Thursday, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on the ramp/merge from southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) to eastbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) for guiderail installation.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through or near the work areas because backups and delays will occur.
