I-95 Southbound Lanes Closed Due Damaged Road In Philadelphia

Two right lanes of Interstate 95 south in Philadelphia are closed due to falling debris, according to PennDOT and news reports.

PHILADELPHIA — Lanes on Interstate 95 south are closed in Philadelphia due to falling debris, according to officials and reports.

PennDOT said the right two lanes on I-95 south are closed in the area of Tasker and South Front street.

A crack appeared on the highway at about 9:45 a.m., according to NBC10.

A crack on the elevated highway caused issues at about 9:45 a.m.

Action News reports crews are replacing a cover plate on the road after falling debris damaged the road.

PennDOT said the lanes are expected to reopen sometime Wednesday.

A more permanent fix is expected to be completed later this week, according to Action News.

Drivers should use caution when traveling in the area.
