Interstate 76 Lanes Closing Overnight In Center City Next Week

Alternating closures of either eastbound or westbound Interstate 76 in the vicinity of 30th Street will affect overnight trafic next week.

PHILADELPHIA — Interstate 76 in Center City Philadelphia will have alternating lane closures during overnight hours next week, PennDOT said.

According to PennDOT, alternating closures of either eastbound or westbound Interstate 76 in the vicinity of 30th Street in Center City Philadelphia will occur on Monday through Thursday next week.

The closures will be in effect from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning for overhead viaduct construction.

When eastbound I-76 is closed between 30th Street and South Street, traffic will be directed to use the off-ramp at 30th Street, turn left on Chestnut Street, then turn right on Schuylkill Avenue to the ramp back to eastbound I-76 at Walnut Street.

When westbound I-76 is closed between 30th Street and Interstate 676, I-76 motorists will exit at 30th Street and follow Schuylkill Avenue to the ramp back to westbound I-76 at Market Street.
