It 'Snowed' In Philadelphia Sunday: National Weather Service
Well, technically it did snow, according to weather experts. But not in the fashion you're imagining.
PHILADELPHIA — It snowed Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia. Well, technically, but not really.
According to the National Weather Service, a "trace" of snow passed over the Philadelphia International Airport Sunday.
Weather experts said as thunderstorms rolled over the airport, they produced small hail.

"Since hail is frozen precipitation, this counts as a 'trace' of snow in our climate reports," the National Weather Service said on social media. "Hence, the record daily snowfall report."
Officials said the phenomenon is rare, but not unusual.
