Jim Kenney Wins Democratic Primary In Landslide Victory
Mayor Jim Kenney will go on to face Billy Ciancaglini in the general election this November after a sweeping victory in the mayoral primary.
PHILADELPHIA — Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney is closer to keeping his mayoral seat, as he emerged the victor amid the Democratic primary race Tuesday, May 21.
Kenney's lead over challengers Alan Butkovitz and Anthony Hardy Williams was immediate once early returns came in.
As of 10:10 p.m. with 90 percent of precincts counted, Kenney had a dominating 121,096 votes to Butkovitz's 16,410 and Williams' 43,124.

On the GOP side, Billy Ciancaglini faced no challengers. With 90 percent of precincts reporting, Ciancaglini has 16,608 votes.
