What does this community leader do?

Khadijah Butler is the Founder and President of the Craig D. Butler Scholarship Foundation, a memorial scholarship for Philly high school seniors to honor her father after he was murdered by a 14 year old.

Why do you believe the community leader should be recognized or honored?

Khadijah gives tirelessly to the community via her organization's scholarship workshops and the inaugural scholarship awards. Her pledge to bridge the education gap in the aftermath of gun violence is a pain point she is passionate about solving.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the community hero?

Enduring such a devastating loss took Khadijah on a dark path of grief, confusion, and anger initially but 20 years later she established a scholarship foundation in his honor, published two books, and it landed her on the altruistic journey of providing scholarships to underserved youth in the city of Philadelphia.
