Kyle Schwarber Hosting Philly Block Party To Benefit First Responders

The event at Yards Brewing in Philadelphia will feature live music, actions, food, wine, beer, and more while supporting first responders.

PHILADELPHIA — Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber next month is hosting an event that will support local first responders while celebrating the city itself.

Schwarber’s Block Party is set for Sunday, Sept. 10 at Yards Brewing.

The party, which begins at 6:30 p.m. and lasts through 9:30 p.m., will highlight Philadelphia's unique neighborhoods and offer an opportunity to show appreciation to members of the police, fire and military.

Attendees will find a variety of Yards Brewing Company beer, wine, food representing Philly’s neighborhoods, live music, and other interactive entertainment at the party.

Additionally, the block party will feature a silent and live auction, as well including signed sports memorabilia and experiences.

Single tickets start at $250 each.

All funds raised at the event will benefit organizations serving Philadelphia area first responders and their families, including:

  • The Philadelphia Police Foundation: provides important support and resources to the Philadelphia Police Department to assist the Department in ensuring the safety and security of the city’s residents, visitors and businesses.
  • Philadelphia Fire Department Foundation: mission is to promote fire and life safety education and help the PFD better protect Philadelphia.
  • Families Behind the Badge Children’s Foundation: non-profit dedicated to supporting the families of fallen and critically injured first responders and building healthy connections in the communities they serve.
  • TAPS: national nonprofit organization providing compassionate care and comprehensive resources for all those grieving the death of a military or veteran loved one.
  • Team Foster: nonprofit that fights for the unmet needs of injured and disabled Veterans by bringing together civilians, Veterans and highly trained service dogs.

Schwarber’s charity, Schwarber’s Neighborhood Heroes, expresses gratitude for the unique sacrifices of first responders.

The left fielder's dad is a first responder, and his platform gives him the opportunity to shed light on the extreme importance of first responders, and also express the utmost thanks for them and their families.

The organization does this by creating positive experiences and funding wellness, education and crisis needs for first responder families.

Since 2017, Schwarber’s Neighborhood Heroes has reached more than 550 first responder families and granted more than $625,000 to nonprofits that support its mission.

Yards Brewing Company is located at 500 Spring Garden Street in Philadelphia.
