PHILADELPHIA — Lanes are closing on Interstate 76 in both directions this week for barrier installation, PennDOT said.
The overnight closures will be in effect from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. the next morning, Wednesday through Friday.
PennDOT said the affected portion of highway is on sections of eastbound and westbound I-76 between Girard Avenue (Exit 342) and the U.S. 1 North Roosevelt Boulevard (Exit 340B) interchanges.

The work is part of a $36.8 million project to resurface and repair nearly five miles of the interstate, the associated on-and-off ramps, and 23 bridges from U.S. 1 South (City Avenue) to Interstate 676 (Vine Street Expressway) in Philadelphia.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays may occur.
