Patch: What attracted you to the line of work you’re in, and how did you get started?
Mikael La Ferla: My education and work experience in accounting and financial management inspired me to make a solution to shoppers’ problems.

Patch: What's the most common piece of advice you give to customers?
Mikael La Ferla: The most common piece of advice I’d give is: Pay attention to where your money actually goes before trying to cut everything out. Most people don’t have a spending problem, they have a visibility problem. Once you see your habits clearly, it’s much easier to make smarter choices without feeling restricted.
Patch: What’s the most satisfying part of your job?
Mikael La Ferla: Definitely seeing people feel less stressed about their money and reaching their financial goals. When someone goes from feeling overwhelmed to feeling in control just by understanding their finances better, that’s the most rewarding part of what I do
Patch: How would you say your business or organization distinguishes itself from the others?
Mikael La Ferla: We combine basic tech in our app with real human guidance. Shopden is an app that helps people track spending and stay organized, but we also offer free financial coaching so users can actually understand their habits and ask questions.
