The Philadelphia Zoo's Brilliant Holiday Light Show Is Back

Hundreds of thousands of twinkling lights, a 100-foot-long aquarium tunnel, enormous jellyfish, a Wilderness Express Train, and more.

PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia Zoo has announced its holiday light show will return this fall to dazzle people of all ages.

LumiNature, the zoo's holiday lights show, will run from Nov. 18 through Jan. 9, 2022. The light show features hundreds of thousands of twinkling lights, creating lively displays around the Zoo.

"Highlights will include a 100 ft-long aquarium tunnel, enormous jellyfish, a brand new octopus tree, a 21-feet tall brilliant colored snake, hundreds of illuminated penguins, giant cat eyes glowing in the dark of night, a 22-feet-tall Butterfly Tree, a new Wilderness Express Train, and a 25-foot tree made entirely of lit flamingo lawn ornaments," the Zoo said in a news release.

Tickets are on sale now. Entry for kids aged 2-11 costs $20, and tickets for people 12 and up are $25. Timed entry periods run from 5:30-8:30 p.m., Wednesday-Sunday from Nov. 18 - Jan. 9. LumiNature is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Guests must purchase tickets online to attend.

LumiNature began in November 2019 and did not happen in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the Zoo.
