Man Killed After Being Attacked At South Philadelphia Park
A 38-year-old man is dead after a fight in Gold Star Park in South Philadelphia Saturday and police are searching for the attacker.

PHILADELPHIA — A 38-year-old man is dead after a fight in a South Philadelphia park Saturday and police are looking for the attacker.
According to police, at about 9:12 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5 officers were called Gold Star Park on the 600 block of Wharton Street for a report of a person screaming.
When officers arrived, they found a white man laying on the sidewalk unconscious with another person giving CPR to the man, police said.

The man was taken to Jefferson Hospital and pronounced dead at 9:51 p.m., according to police.
Action News reports the fight began after the victim asked another man in the park to put his dog on a leash.

According to the outlet, the man was hit in the face then hit his head on the concrete when he fell.
CBS Philadelphia reports police believe the suspect is somebody who frequents the park.
Anyone with information on the fatal assault is urged to call Philadelphia Police.
