Man Sought In Philadelphia Police Officer Shooting

Police said Anthony Cromwell shot at an undercover Philadelphia Police officer Tuesday morning during a drug investigation.

PHILADELPHIA — A man is wanted for attempted murder after Philadelphia Police said he shot at an undercover officer Tuesday.

According to police, the shooting occurred at 11:51 a.m. Tuesday on the 4200 block of Clarissa Street.

Members of the Narcotic Field Unit were investigating the alleged sale of narcotics Anthony Cromwell, 43, of the 2000 block of Dennie Street.

While officers were investigating Cromwell, police said he shot a gun into an unmarked police car in which an undercover narcotics officer was sitting.

According to Fox 29, the officer was not hurt and returned fire. It's unclear if the alleged shooter was hit.

Cromwell is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached, police said.
