Man Wanted After Stealing Gun Used To Shoot Philly Cop: Police
Police said the man should be considered armed and dangerous.

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Philadelphia authorities are asking for the public's help in tracking down a man who faces charges connecting to the shooting of a police officer late last week.
Jose Quinones-Mendez, 42, is 5 feet, 8 inches tall and 160 pounds and should be considered armed and dangerous.
The incident occurred on Jan. 26 on the 2800 block of N. Mascher Street.

The shooter, who has since been identified by police and family as Alexander Spencer, became involved in confrontation with a police officer inside a corner store, authorities said.
Spencer shot an officer twice in the leg during the incident, and his partner returned fire, killing Spencer, police said.

Quinones-Mendez, who was on the scene, took the weapon that Spencer used and then fled, police said.
He's been charged with tampering with evidence, theft, and firearms charges.
