Marshalls In Center City Philadelphia Closing

The store at 1044 Market St. is closing in mid-January. Reasons behind the closure are unclear.

PHILADELPHIA — The Center City Marshalls store is closing.

The store at 1044 Market St. is closing on Jan. 14, 2023, a spokesperson confirmed with Patch.

"We are always assessing and reviewing our real estate strategies, and our decision to close this store reflects that thinking," an email to Patch said. "We are grateful for the loyalty of our Philadelphia customers and invite them to visit our nearby stores to continue to find great values, including the Marshalls on South Swanson Street and the T.J. Maxx on Market Street.

It's unclear what spurred the decision to close the store, but managers and associates working at the Market Street location are being offered employment at other nearby stores.
