Mayor Cherelle Parker Endorses Harris For President
Philly Mayor Cherelle Parker came out in support of Vice President Kamala Harris for president after Joe Biden stepped out of the race.

PHILADELPHIA — More and more politicians are throwing their support behind Vice President Kamala Harris for president after Joe Biden announced he would no longer be seeking reelection in the 2024 race.
And Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker has announced she is backing Harris.
On Monday, Parker released a statement saying, "I have been with her and will continue to be with her.

"Kamala Harris is incredibly qualified," she said. "As Vice President, she led through a time of recovery and incredible growth. She understands that cities like Philadelphia are the backbone of our Country."

Parker highlighted Harris' work as a prosecutor, her time at a HBCU, a family woman, and more in her praise for her.
"The Vice President joined the Biden/Harris ticket literally in my backyard in Mt. Airy — as one of her first campaign stops in the middle of the pandemic," Parker said. "Since then, I have gotten to know her and work with her up close."

She urged unity among Democrats and said they must avoid division or to confuse the effort to make Harris the Democratic nominee for president.
