'Mutt Strut' To Raise Money For Homeless Pets In Philadelphia

Activities at the event include live music, costume and talent contests, an agility course, a flyball demonstration, and paw print painting.

PHILADELPHIA — Dog families are invited to join other pooch lovers for the 16th annual Mutt Strut in South Philadelphia.

The Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society is hosting the benefit Mutt Strut event on Saturday, Oct. 1 at the Navy Yard, 4747 S. Broad St. in Philadelphia.

Check-in opens at 10 a.m. with the walk beginning at 11 a.m.

The event will be hosted by BenFM's Kristen Herrmann, Fox 29's Sue Serio, and WMMR's Steve Morrison.

Activities at the event include live music, costume and talent contests, an agility course, a flyball demonstration, paw print painting, a pet photo booth, and a raffle with prizes.

Those who wish to participate but don't have their own dog can "rent" a dog from PAWS to walk at the event.

Certain fundraising amounts will get you prizes, such as a PAWS umbrella, a pullover sweatshirt, and a $100 gift card.

Top fundraises can win a night out for two, a brewery tour at Tripple Bottom Brewing, wellness and health coach sessions, and a party for team members at Urban Village Brewing.

This year's fundraising goal is $125,000. So far, nearly $30,000 has been raised.

All funds will help support Philadelphia's homeless pets.
