Naked Biking? New Study Says Philly Is A Great City For Riding Nude

PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia Naked Bike Ride will take place in August this year.

Hundreds of cyclists will strip down to be adorned with body paint as they cruise through the city as part of the annual event.

And that, as well as other factors, led a website to list Philadelphia as the No. 3 best city for riding in the buff.

Lawnstarter.com recently published its ranks of the best U.S. cities for naked bike riding.

The team at Lawnstarter first determined the factors most relevant to rank the Best Cities for Naked Biking, then assigned a weight to each factor based on its importance and grouped those factors into five categories: Naked Biking Popularity, Cyclist-Friendliness, Nudist-Friendliness, Climate, and Safety.

They calculated scores out of 100 points for each city to determine its rank in each factor, each category, and overall.

With those all considered, Philly was No. 3 on the list.

As for Philly's scores in each category, it was No. 1 for Nudist-Friendliness. The city topped out at No. 5 for Naked Biking Popularity, but was down at No. 20 in Cyclist-Friendliness.

Philly's Climate and Safety ranks were 327 and 337, respectively.
