Neo-Nazi Fliers Found On Penn's Campus Over Weekend

The university's president said "hatred and fear-mongering have no place at Penn" in a statement responding the the fliers.

Neo-Nazi fliers aimed at recruiting people to their ranks were found on the University of Pennsylvania's campus over the weekend, prompting university President Amy Gutmann to release a statement condemning the fliers and the intolerant message they promote.

"This past weekend, some neo-Nazi flyers were found posted at several locations in the vicinity of campus," Gutmann said in her email. "These appear to have been circulated by off-campus groups known to be bent on sowing fear and discord, and targeting campuses within our region and nationwide."

Even with the flier removed, Gutmann emphasized that Penn's campus is no place for hatred and fear mongering.

"Our University strives to be a place that is safe and welcoming for all students, faculty and staff. Expressing hate or animus for any group of individuals is vile and reprehensible," she wrote to the school community. "We underscore our commitment to a supportive, respectful, diverse and open campus, and we encourage the exercise of free expression rights to counter misguided hate with stronger words of truth and mutual respect."

Gutmann offered resources available to the school community that can help cope with finding such vitriol on campus:
