New Ballpark Features Debuting At Phillies Home Opener Friday

PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia Phillies are returning to South Philadelphia Friday for the 2023 season home opener.
Fans will fill the park Friday afternoon to welcome the team back to Citizens Bank Park after a landmark 2022 season that ended with a World Series bid as the Phillies take on the Cincinnati Reds.
Before the game, the team will raise the 2022 NL Pennant.

Those in attendance will be given a 2022 NL championship pennant.

There will also be a Budweiser Block Party inside the Third Base Gate, photo opportunities with Budweiser Clydesdale horses, 3D chalk art, and more outside the gate.
The team is also selling exclusive memorabilia to commemorate the start of the 2023 season. 2023 season kickoff gear includes caps, T-shirts, a novelty baseball, can cooler, magnet, pennant and pins.
With the new season comes new features at Citizens Bank Park, including new concessions, travel amenities, entry processes, and the new massive video scoreboard.
Below are new things to expect at the park for the 2023 season:
New Fan Screening Process
Fans will now be able to walk right through the entrance gates without having to stop to open bags or be checked individually as they enter the ballpark, according to the team.
The Phillies are partnering with Evolv Technology to use a new technology with artificial intelligence for safer, more accurate threat detection at unprecedented volume and speed, the team said.
New Uber RideShare Lot
Debuting April 20, the Phillies will have a RideShare lot in Lot T for all events at the park.
The team and Uber are providing the service for event attendees at both the ballpark and Wells Fargo Center.
Fans should exit the Third Base Gate and walk along Pattison Avenue toward Broad Street to enter the lot and request a vehicle, which will meet each rider in the designated area.
The lot will also include an Uber-branded lounge with seating and a charging station.
New PhanaVision Videoboard
During the off season, the team installed a new, massive videoboard in place of the old board.
It is the third largest videoboard in the major leagues, about 152 feet wide by 86 feet tall.
This new board is 77 percent bigger than the previous scoreboard and features the latest and greatest in high dynamic range video technology, according to the team.
Game attendees will experience the high definition quality in person, made possible by 11.6 million pixels at 10-millimeter spacing.
The board weighs 116,298 pounds and is supported by 190 tons of structural steel.
New Concession Options
- 883 Burger Co. — A nod to the year the Phillies were founded, this stand will serve up fresh, never-frozen burgers, chicken tenders, jumbo Phillies Franks and Boardwalk Fries. (Sections 109 & 207)
- Federal Donuts Chicken Tenders — Crispy, hand-battered chicken tenders served with an Everything Rooster dipping sauce. (Federal Donuts)
- Greens & Grains — The local restaurant chain will serve plant-based, fast, and fresh food options. (Section 125)
- Manco and Manco — This Ocean City boardwalk fan favorite will be expanding to additional locations and offered at Pass and Stow, Miller Lite Liberty Landing and Section 137.
- Mexican Street Popcorn — Tossed in-house with tajin spice, lime and cotija cheese. (Pass and Stow)
- Miso Couscous — Available in premium suites, this vegetarian dish is accompanied by roasted baby eggplant, broccolini and romesco.
- P.J. Whelihan’s Cheesesteak Egg Rolls — A duo of golden fried egg rolls stuffed with Philly’s finest shaved steak & melted American cheese. Served with sriracha ketchup. (Ashburn Alley)
- South Philly Disco Fries — Roast pork, melted sharp provolone cheese, broccoli rabe, and roasted red peppers. (Pass and Stow)
- Uncle Charlie’s Steaks — Named after 2008 World Series champion Charlie Manuel, this new area will feature classic, Philly-style cheesesteaks on freshly baked Liscio’s Bakery seeded rolls served with Herr’s kettle chips. Be on the lookout for Manuel, who will be making guest appearances throughout the season. (Section 109)
- Seasons Inning Stretch — For the 2023 season, Aramark Sports + Entertainment will debut Seasons Inning Stretch (#SeasonsInningStretch), a limited-time, seasonally inspired food and beverage program that will bring new, elevated tastes to the ballpark menu in the spring, summer and fall. To start the season, Citizens Bank Park will offer a Jerk Chicken Sandwich featuring pulled jerk chicken served on a brioche roll with pickle slaw and fried plantains. (Section 143)
- Coca-Cola Corner — The Phillies, Aramark Sports + Entertainment, Coca-Cola, and Liberty Coca-Cola Beverages are partnering this season to launch Coca-Cola Corner. As part of the initiative, Coca-Cola Corner will showcase seven Philadelphia-area restaurants during each Phillies series. The restaurants will feature one of their well-known menu items paired with the perfect Coca-Cola beverage. Plus, 5 percent of all purchases of these items will benefit Philabundance to help fight food insecurity.
New Philadelphia Phillies Clubhouse Rewards Mastercard
Fans can earn points with every purchase through the new rewards program that can be redeemed for Phillies experiences and more, according to the team.
Points can then be redeemed for event tickets, merchandise, memorabilia, and exclusive experiences such as throwing out a first pitch, watching batting practice on the field, meet and greets with Phillies legends and more.

New Gear And Collectibles
Fans can collect their favorite moments from the 2022 NL Champions, with each soda cup being released in different quantities throughout the season. The collectible cups are available at all concession fountain locations.
The Bedlam At The Bank Koozies celebrate the NLCS MVP with a 24-ounce can koozie. Koozies are available at most beer and liquor locations throughout the ballpark.
A new "Jersey Feature Wall," with new Trea Turner No. 7 jerseys and more, is debuting at the Team Store. With 1,200 square feet of new space added in the off season, the New Era Phillies Team Store now includes an expansive jersey feature wall for the wide variety of player jerseys and T-shirts available for fans, including multiple colorways of Turner's jersey.
And lastly, the team will have new memorabilia celebrating the beloved Phillie Phanatic. New novelty and wearable items - including sweatshirts, caps, kids knit set, drinkware, plush, pins and more - will be available for purchase in the park.
