Officer Arrested For DUI After Hitting Four Cars: Philadelphia Police

The officer was off duty when he allegedly struck several vehicles Tuesday morning, police said.

PHILADELPHIA – A Philadelphia Police officer has been arrested and charged with driving under the influence, police announced Thursday, Aug. 3. Police said Officer Nicholas Harper was involved in a vehicle accident that occurred at about 5:23 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2.

Harper was off duty when he struck several parked cars on the 1600 block of North 6th Street, police said.

When officers responded to the scene, they observed signs of impairment in Harper, police said.

Officers took him into custody and charged him with driving under the influence, police said.

Harper was taken to the police detention unit for blood chemical testing, police said.
