Parking On South Broad Restricted For Snow Removal Tuesday

Streets Department crews will be working to remove snow Tuesday, forcing parking restrictions along a portion of South Broad Street.

PHILADELPHIA — Snow removal operations have limited parking along a portion of South Broad Street in Philadelphia Tuesday.

Parking is restricted on South Broad between Washington and Oregon Avenue for snow removal work by the Streets Department.

This operation will involve dozens of vehicles, including excavators and loaders, which may temporarily disrupt traffic as they work to remove snow pushed back to curblines.

Free off-street parking is available at parking lot U near Citizens Bank Ballpark now to 6 p.m. All vehicles parked in lot U must leave by 6 p.m.

The Streets Department urges everyone traveling near this lifting operation and others taking place across Philadelphia to plan extra travel time, slow down, and help keep crews safe by giving them plenty of space to do work.

The Streets Department is deploying more than 300 vehicles, front-end loaders, and excavators organized into 16 teams for snow removal work across the city. This work involves excavating snow from narrow roadways, collecting it on nearby primary streets, loading it into dump trucks, and then transporting it to snow storage sites across the city.
