Penn Medicine Requiring Masks In Certain Departments

Visitors who tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 10 days, or who have symptoms, are not allowed to enter any Penn Medicine facilities.

PHILADELPHIA — Penn Medicine is now requiring masks in certain areas of its facilities as more cases of COVID-19 are emerging.

As of Monday, masks are required in Penn's emergency department and urgent care waiting rooms; dedicated oncology, radiation oncology, and transplant clinics; and infusion centers.

According to Penn Medicine, this applies to patients and visitors in these areas who are 2 and older.

Additionally, patients who tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 10 days or who have symptoms of COVID-19 must wear a mask.

And, visitors who tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 10 days or who have symptoms of COVID-19 are not allowed to enter any facility, even with a mask.

All patients and visitors are highly encouraged to wear a surgical mask to their visit and in Penn Medicine facilities.
