This Is Pennsylvania's Best Sandwich, Popular Magazine Says

People magazine named this Philadelphia spot with two locations the creator of Pennsylvania's finest sandwich.

PHILADELPHIA — A Philadelphia cheesesteak and hoagie spot apparently has the best sandwich in the Keystone State, according to People magazine's latest list of the best sandwich in each state.

People and The Infatuation teamed up to name the top sandwich in each state, and Philly Ishkabibble’s has been named the best in Pennsylvania, according to the list.

Ishkabibble’s, which has locations at 337 South St. has opened at 517 South St., is best known for its cheesesteaks, according to People Magazine.

It's Ishkabibble's Cheesesteak Hoagie (a classic steak but with lettuce and tomato added) that People shouts out in the list.

Since 1979 hungry diners have traveled far and wide to this South Street institution—named after a Yiddish expression that loosely translates to “Do I look like I care?”—for their made-to-order Cheesesteak Hoagies. Order them with Cheez Whiz, provolone or a combination of both.

Ishkabibble's was recently included on a list of "America's 75 Best Hole-in-the-Wall Restaurants" for 2019 by the Daily Meal.
