Philadelphia DA Candidates Debating Thursday

The debate will air live at 7 p.m. on 90.9 WHYY-FM and WURD 900 AM.

PHILADELPHIA – The seven Democrats vying for Philadelphia District Attorney will face off in a debate Thursday night at WHYY Inc. Beth Grossman, the sole Republican running for DA, is not slated to participate.

The debate will be held from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 22 at WHYY Inc., 150 6th St., Philadelphia.

All attendees must be seated by 6:45 p.m. The entire event will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The Philadelphia NAACP and WHYY are hosting the debate, which will air at 7 p.m. on 90.9 WHYY-FM and WURD 900 AM and again on Sunday, May 7 at 3:30 p.m. on WHYY-TV.

Democratic candidates Teresa Carr Deni; Jack O’Neill; Tariq El-Shabazz; Joe Khan; Lawrence Krasner; Rich Negrin; and Michael Untermeyer will all participate in the debate ahead of the May 16 primary election.

WURD morning host Solomon Jones will moderate the debate.

Additionally, Philadelphia NAACP President Rodney Muhammad; Nikki White of the Philadelphia Commission for Millennials; Judi Rhee Alloway of the Philadelphia Commission on Asian American Affairs; and Rock the Vote’s Sheneice Simmons will join Davies asking questions of the candidates.
