Philadelphia Public, Catholic Schools Closing Wednesday

With a winter storm on the horizon, the School District of Philadelphia and the Archdiocese decided to cancel school Wednesday.

PHILADELPHIA — With a winter storm looming, all School District of Philadelphia and Catholic high schools and parochial elementary schools in the city will be closed Wednesday.

All public schools, as well as Archdiocesan high schools and parochial elementary schools, are closing Wednesday, Feb. 20 due to the forecast.

All after-school activities in the School District of Philadelphia — including all athletic programs and professional development sessions — scheduled for Wednesday are canceled as well. All District early childhood centers will also be closed.

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia said its high schools and parochial elementary schools in the suburban counties normally follow the decision of their corresponding local public school district and submit closure status independently.
