Phillies Fan Injured By Flying Hot Dog At Monday Game

While the dedicated Phils fan was injured by a frank launched by the Phanatic, she is in good spirits and doesn't plan to take any action.

PHILADELPHIA – It's always a good time watching the Phillie Phanatic ride around on his ATV, launching hot dogs into the crowd at Citizens Bank Park. But the silly tradition ended up leaving one dedicated fan with some minor injuries.

According to Action News, Kathy McVay was hit in the face with one of the airborne hot dogs at the Monday night game against the St. Louis Cardinals.

While McVay, of Montgomery County, is in good spirits and doesn't plan to take any action against the team, she reportedly is suffering from a hematoma in her eye after being hit in the face with the frankfurter.

"Just to be aware, because you never know," she told Action News I understand a baseball, but not a hot dog."

The team has apologized to McVay and offered her tickets to another game of her choice after her recovery, CBS reports.
