Phillies Wearing Nickname Jerseys For 'Player's Weekend'
For the first ever MLB "Player's Weekend," the Phils will be rocking jerseys with their nicknames. Check them out here.
PHILADELPHIA – If you have a hard time identifying Phillies players on the field and at bat Aug. 25 through Aug. 27, it might be because the team will rocking unique jerseys as part of Major League Baseball's inaugural "Player's Weekend."
Phillies players, along with other major league players, will have jerseys featuring their nicknames, rather than their last names, during Player's Weekend.
The team showed off their jerseys on its official Twitter page Wednesday afternoon:

Not only are the jerseys different, the ball caps have had the iconic Phillies "P" replaced with the city's crown jewel: the Liberty Bell.
