PHILADELPHIA — As retail business struggles, the three Philadelphia A.C. Moore stores is closing along with all other A.C. Moore locations across the United States.

Nicole Crafts, A.C. Moore parent company, said Monday that it has decided to "exit its retail operations" by closing all A.C. Moore stores "as part of a broader strategic plan."

The Philadelphia stores — located at 1851 S Columbus Boulevard, 100 South Broad Street, and 111 Roosevelt Boulevard — are closing due to the corporate plan.

Closing plans for specific A.C. Moore locations will be released in the upcoming weeks.

Online orders ceased as of Monday. Previously placed orders will ship, the company said.

The closures are due to "headwinds facing many retailers," said Anthony Piperno, A.C. Moore CEO.

The first A.C. Moore store opened in New Jersey in 1985.
