Philly Activist Charged With Rape, Corruption of Minors, More

PHILADELPHIA — A Philadelphia woman known for her activism in the city has been hit with a slew of charges, including rape, corruption of minors, and more.

Kendall Stephens, 37, is charged with two counts each of rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, endangering the welfare of children, unlawful contact with minors, indecent assault of a person under 13 years old, and more crimes.

According to reports, Stephens is accused of raping two young boys.

NBC10 reports one of the victims was assaulted at least three times since 2022 while the victim was just 8 years old, and the other victim, who is 15 now, told authorities he was assaulted by Stephens.

The charges were filed by the Philadelphia Police Department, and the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office referred the charges to the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office, which accepted the referral.

A transgender woman, Stephens is a prominent activist in Philadelphia's LGBTQIA+ community.

Stephens is being held on $500,000 bail and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Dec. 29, according to court documents.
