π± Philly Coca-Cola Strikes + Fatal Shooting In Lawndale + Donor Dash

Hello and happy Monday! I'm back in your inbox this morning with all the most important things happening locally. Today you'll find news about:
- Four hundred workers from the Liberty Coca-Cola Plant have voted to strike on Sunday.
- A 24 year-old man was shot and killed in the city's Lawndale section.
- More than 10,000 people participated in the 26th annual Gift of Life Donor Dash.

Here are the top three stories in Philadelphia today:
- But will we still get our Coke? Teamsters Local 830 leadership reports that the warehouse, truck drivers and office/admin staff at Liberty Coca-Cola have voted to strike. Picket lines, posters, megaphones, lawn chairs and plenty of coffee has already set up shop on the 700 block of E. Erie Avenue. Local 830 Secretary-Treasurer Daniel H. Grace called the most recent contract offering "insulting." (The Philadelphia Inquirer)
- Gunshots rang out on the 6400 block of Lawndale Street and killed a 24 year-old man on Sunday. The victim has not been identified by police and no arrests have been made. Lawndale residents are shocked at the gun violence in their community and mourn the loss of life and uptick of gunshots they're hearing on their streets. (6abc Philadelphia)
- The Gift of Life was out in full force during the 26th Annual Donor Dash that began at Eakins Oval. Over 10,000 participants-most of them family of organ donors and the recipients themselves laced up their sneakers and finished a 5k run, a 10k run or 3k walk. The 2023 Donor Dash raised more than $350,000 and right now, there are 5,000 people on the organ transplant list in our region. (6abc Philadelphia)
