Philly Cop Charged After Breaking Restraining Order: Authorities

Police said he has been suspended for 30 days and will be terminated after those 30 days are up.

PHILADELPHIA — A Philadelphia Police officer has been arrested and charged in connection with a restraining order violation, police said.

According to police, officer Ahmad Abuali was arrested by the Philadelphia Police Department’s Internal Affairs Division after an investigation into the violation of a protection from abuse order — commonly referred to as a restraining order — that occurred Jan. 30.

Abuali was arrested Thursday last week, police said.

He is 32 years old and a 6-year veteran of the department. Abuali was most recently assigned to the 19th District.

The Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office has charged Officer Abuali with one misdemeanor count of violation of PFA.

Philadelphia Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw has suspended Abuali for 30 days with the intent to dismiss at the end of the 30 days.
