Philly Officials Warn Of Unaffiliated COVID Testing Sites

Staff at these pop-up coronavirus testing sites claimed to be affiliated with FEMA, but city health officials they are not FEMA supported.

PHILADELPHIA — After several pop-up tents offering free coronavirus testing caught the attention of Philadelphia health officials, they are now warning residents to avoid them.

The Philadelphia Department of Health Monday said it learned of these testing sites that were in operation last week.

These pop-ups are not affiliated with the city or FEMA, despite staff at the pop-ups claiming to be FEMA supported.

Anyone who sees unaffiliated pop-up coronavirus testing sites in the city to call Health Department at 215-685-5488 and report them.

Due to the overwhelming need for testing right now, people who are experiencing symptoms, but cannot find testing, are encouraged to act as if they are already positive.
