Philly Police Seeking Post Super Bowl Win Looters

A huge crowd of people descended on a gas station on South Broad early Monday morning and stole items, then started trashing the business.

PHILADELPHIA – Countless people flocked to the streets Sunday night and into Monday morning to celebrate the Eagles' historic victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 51, but some people celebrated illegally and dangerously, even going as far as looting a gas station.

Philadelphia Police released footage of, and information about, the looting incident that occurred early Monday morning.

According to police, the looting began at about 12:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5 at a Sunoco gas station at 801 S. Broad St. when a large group of men and women descended on the store.

The people then started taking various items from the store and also began throwing items around the store, police said.

During the commotion, the looters caused a hole in the back wall of the store by throwing various items around, police said.
