Philly Police Union President John McNesby Retiring: Reports
John McNesby, who has led the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5 since 2007, announced Friday he is retiring to take a new position.
PHILADELPHIA — The head of the Philadelphia Police union is stepping down for a new role, according to reports.
According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, John McNesby, president of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5, is retiring.
The news came in a Friday announcement, which the Inquirer reports said McNesby will leave Nov. 10 to take on an unspecified state role.

McNesby was elected president of the union in 2007 after serving as a patrol officer and a narcotics officer with the department, according to NBC10.
