PHILADELPHIA – A new study from the folks at WalletHub ranked the best places for families in Pennsylvania, and Philadelphia landed on the list. But what was its rank?
To calculate the rankings, WalletHub compared more than 80 cities in the state across 21 key indicators of ideal family conditions.
The data set ranges from the share of families with young children to median family income, housing affordability to number of playgrounds, and more.

Philly was the No. 85 best place for families in 2018, according to WalletHub. Only Chester and Darby were ranked lower than Philly.

It earned an overall score of 30.96 based on scored in the "Family Life and Fun," "Education, Heath, And Safety," "Affordability," and "Socioeconomics" field of the study.
Franklin Park, Upper St. Clair, Carnot-Moon, Montgomeryville, and Bethel Park were the top five places in the study.
At the bottom were Uniontown, Wilkinsburg, Philadelphia, Chester, and Darby.
