PHILADELPHIA — If you get a package delivered, and it's left on your doorstep in Philadelphia, there's a good chance it will be stolen.
While many Philadelphians can share stories of porch pirates pilfering their purchased packages, a new study backs up that statement.
Casino.org recently released findings of a study that looked at the worst areas in the nation for package thefts.

In May 2024, the site surveyed 3,000 Americans, asking a number of questions regarding package theft.
According to the results, Philadelphia was the No. 1 city for package thefts.

The results show 82 percent of Philadelphians face porch piracy regularly.
Residents also had one of the most negative attitudes towards government support on the matter. Almost 70 percent of Philadelphians cited that the government is doing "nothing" to stop the problem, the study reports.
After Philly were New York City (81 percent), New Orleans (80 percent), Orlando (78 percent), and Los Angeles (75 percent).
As for states, Washington DC has the most package thefts, with 80 percent of respondents reporting thefts of packages.
Pennsylvania had 55 percent of respondents report package thefts.
