Philly Rooftop Bar Among 10 Best In World, Website Says

PHILADELPHIA — City skylines can be incredibly beautiful. Skyscrapers reaching into the heavens often create stunning vistas in all kinds of conditions.

One great way to take in skylines is hanging out at a rooftop bar.

And a survey conducted by a website says Philadelphia has one of the world's best rooftop bars that offers a great view of the city's skyline.

SkyCity Online Casino recently published a list of the "Best Rooftop Bars in the World" based on a survey of more than 1,000 people globally.

The site aimed to discover which rooftop views from bars people liked the most.

With all responses considered, Philadelphia's Bok Bar was named among the top 10 rooftop bars in the world.

Located atop the former Bok Vocational High School at 1901 S. Ninth St. in South Philadelphia, Bok Bar offers a wide view of the Philadelphia skyline.

SkyCity's survey results ranked Bok Bar No. 9 on its list of world's best rooftop bars.

To create the rank, SkyCity looked for high scoring consistency, then tallied all responses rated 8, 9 or 10 to come up with the top 10 rooftop bar views.

Bok Bar is one of three U.S. rooftop bars to make the list. The others are Nohu in Weehawken, New Jersey at No. 7 and The Roof at EDITION, Hollywood at No. 1.

Bok Bar is open from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 5 p.m. to midnight Fridays, 2 p.m. to midnight Saturdays, and 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays.
