Philly Wawa Employee Tests Positive For Coronavirus: Reports

A Wawa employee at a Philadelphia store has the new coronavirus, known as COVID-19.

PHILADELPHIA — A Philadelphia Wawa employee has tested positive for the new coronavirus, known as COVID-19, according to reports.

Action News reports a worker at the store at 2535 Aramingo Ave. has the virus.

According to Fox 29, Wawa closed the store to have it professionally deep cleaned and disinfected.

"We are working with the Board of Health and will follow their guidance on additional steps or notifications required," a Wawa spokesperson said in a statement. "We will do everything we can to support our associate, including providing paid time off, and take all necessary steps to monitor, safeguard and protect all our associates and customers."

As of Thursday morning, Philadelphia has 342 cases of the virus and one death.
