Philly Whole Foods Caught In Data Breach
The popular grocery chain is urging customers to check their credit card statements for any suspicious activity after the data breach.

PHILADELPHIA – Whole Foods Market recently experienced a data breach, and a Philadelphia location is one of the affected stores, the grocer said. The cyberattack was on Whole Foods’ taprooms and restaurants, not the store’s grocery checkout lines.
The Whole Foods Market Center City Philadelphia location, at 2101 Pennsylvania Ave., had its coffee bar, pizza venue, and taproom caught in the breach. The Cheu, Dizengoff, Severino, and WhizKidz food stands were also affected, the company said.
“While most Whole Foods Market stores do not have taprooms and restaurants, Whole Foods Market encourages its customers to closely monitor their payment card statements and report any unauthorized statements to the issuing bank,” the company said in a statement.

Whole Foods was acquired by Amazon in June for $13.7 billion. The company said the hack doesn’t impact Amazon.com transactions because Whole Foods and Amazon utilize different computer systems.
