PHILADELPHIA, PA — A Scottish deerhound named Claire was crowned Best in Show at the 2021 National Dog Show on Thanksgiving Day. This year marked the 20th season for the annual competition, which is sponsored by Purina and held at Kennel Club in Philadelphia.

In addition to taking home the top honor, Claire also made history as being the first dog to win the prestigious title two years in a row.

The 4-year-old Scottish deerhound's handler, Angela Lloyd, was all smiles as David Frei, co-host of the dog show, gushed about the pooch's record-breaking legacy. Claire beat out more than 1,500 other dogs representing more than 180 breeds.
