Pizzeria Beddia, PA's 'Best Pizza,' Closing Temporarily For Move

The Daily Meal called Pizzeria Beddia's pies the best in Pennsylvania. And it will close up while owner Joe Beddia moves to a new location.

PHILADELPHIA – Pizzeria Beddia is one of the most exclusive pizza purveyors in the city of Philadelphia and the state.

Why? Its only open Wednesday through Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., only takes orders in person, accepts only cash, and only makes 40 pizzas made any given night.

And now it will be gone, but only temporarily thankfully.

Philly.com reports owner Joe Beddia is closing the shop as the lease expires at 115 E. Girard Ave. and is moving to a new home, this time with seating for about 100.

The new location is on the 1300 block of North Front Street.

The old location will be turned into a slice shop, the outlet reports. (Pizzeria Beddia does not sell slices, just its 16-inch pies that serve two.)

Pizzeria Beddia was named the best pizza in Pennsylvania by the Daily Meal back in April 2017.

"People have started lining up as early at 4:00 for pizza," the pizzeria's website says.
