Possible Coronavirus Case Investigated In Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA — Officials with the Philadelphia Department of Public Health said Wednesday that a person is being investigated for a possible case of the novel coronavirus in Philadelphia was cleared of the illness
The department of public health said in its daily update Wednesday on the virus that one person is under investigation for the illness, known as COVID-19, has been cleared of the illness.
However, officials said another person is being investigated for the virus.

No cases of the illness have been confirmed in Pennsylvania, so far.

According to the CDC, 80 cases have been reported in 13 sates, nine of which have ended in death, as of Wednesday.
Previously, a foreign exchange student from China studying at William Penn Charter was suspected of having the virus. That student was cleared of the virus, however.
The health department said it feels that the risk of infection from the novel coronavirus to the average Philadelphian is very low, but people who have recently traveled to China are at the greatest risk.
State officials recently issued guidelines for residents returning from China.
In Philadelphia, the health department is taking more steps to educate residents and monitor any and all developments regarding the novel coronavirus.
The public is urged to wash their hands thoroughly, try not to touch their faces, avoid contact with people who are sick, cover their cough or sneeze, and stay home when they are sick.
