Roxborough Brewery Closed After Thursday Morning Fire

New Ridge Brewing Co. said equipment in the back was destroyed by the fire, and the brewery sustained some damage due to the response.

ROXBOROUGH, PHILADELPHIA — A fire in Roxborough has led to the closure of a popular brewpub Thursday.

New Ridge Brewing Co., 6168 Ridge Ave. in Roxborough, closed Thursday after suffering the fire.

Action News reports propane tanks outside the business caught fire at about 7 a.m.

Brewery officials said equipment in the back of the business was destroyed, and the brewery sustained some damage in the fire department's response.

Luckily, the inside of the restaurant and the kitchen were untouched, according to the brewery.

"Thankfully the fire department got here right away and stopped it from spreading into the building or into our neighbor's buildings, and most importantly, nobody was hurt," the brewery said on social media.

Staff are assessing damage sustained, and the fire company is investigating the blaze.

It's unclear when New Ridge may reopen.
