Screech Owl on the mend at Philadelphia Metro Wildlife Center

Injured screech owl is recovering at the Philadelphia Metro Wildlife Center

This screech owl was brought to the Philadelphia Metro Wildlife Center after being hit by a car. Blood in his throat left him in danger of aspirating blood into his lungs. We were able to stabilize him, suction the blood out, and treat him for blunt head trauma. He has progressed to being able to swallow bits of food when hand fed, and we hope he will soon be able to feed himself.

Philadelphia Metro Wildlife Center is a nonprofit wildlife rehabilitation hospital in King of Prussia, serving Philadelphia, Montgomery, Chester and Delaware counties. For more information, visit our website at www.phillywildlife.org, or visit our Facebook page.
