Suspect In Custody After SEPTA Bus Driver Fatally Shot: Authorities
A 48-year-old SEPTA bus driver was fatally shot six times in the chest and abdomen while driving a Route 23 bus Thursday morning.

PHILADELPHIA — A SEPTA bus driver was fatally shot Thursday morning in Philadelphia and the suspect is in custody, according to authorities.
Police said the shooting occurred at about 10:27 a.m. on a Route 23 bus at Germantown and Abbottsford avenues.
The driver, a 48-year-old Bernard Gribbin, was shot six times in the chest and abdomen while driving the bus, police said.

Police said the suspect, a woman in her 20s, was seen getting off the bus and firing a shot at Gribbin.
She then got on and off several times while shooting at Gribbin.

He was taken to Einstein Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:36 a.m.
Gribbin was a 12-year employee of SEPTA.
SEPTA said at about 12:30 p.m. that the suspect as taken into custody by its own police force at a nearby gas station.
It's unclear what led to the shooting, but authorities said the incident was captured on camera.
