SEPTA Service For Eagles Super Bowl Parade: Latest Changes

SEPTA is making changes to its services to help Eagles fans trying to get to Thursday's parade, including free subway rides. Details:

PHILADELPHIA – We've won the Super Bowl and now it's time for a parade. But how does one get to the parade? SEPTA is making changes to its services Thursday to better serve Eagles fan trying to get to the historic parade.

The parade begins at 11 a.m. at Broad and Pattison streets in South Philadelphia. It heads north up Broad then west on the Ben Franklin Parkway to end at the Art Museum.

But what are SEPTA options for getting to the parade?

Bus, trolley, regional rail, subway, and other services will change for the parade.

The Regional Rail will operate inbound trains only during the morning Thursday. Following the parade, Regional Rail lines will operate outbound only. Stops will also be consolidated along the rail lines to streamline the service.

SEPTA is offering one day Individual Independence Special Parade Price for just $10. Cash fares will not be accepted Thursday.

Independence Blue Cross is providing free rides on the Broad Street and Market-Frankford Lines. Regular fares will still be in effect on all other services.

Trains on the Market-Frankford and Broad Street lines will run every five to seven minutes starting at 5 a.m. on Thursday. SEPTA will use as many rail cars as possible to provide added capacity for riders. The following stations will be open, although additional closures are possible depending on crowds:

Market-Frankford Line

  • Frankford Transportation Center
  • Arrott Transportation Center
  • Erie-Torresdale
  • Allegheny
  • Huntingdon
  • Girard
  • 2nd Street
  • 8th Street
  • 13th Street
  • 30th Street
  • 40th Street
  • 46th Street
  • 52nd Street
  • 60th Street
  • 69th Street Transportation Center

Broad Street Line

  • Fern Rock Transportation Center
  • Olney Transportation Center
  • Wyoming
  • Erie
  • North Philadelphia
  • Cecil B. Moore
  • Girard, Race-Vine
  • Walnut-Locust
  • Ellsworth-Federal
  • Snyder
  • AT&T

All stations on the Norristown High Speed Line will be open Thursday. Local service will operate every 15 minutes.

The following bus routes will be detoured Thursday: 2, 4, 7, 9, 12, 16, 17, 21, 27, 29, 31, 32, 33, 37, 38, 40, 42, 43, 44, 45, 48, 64, 68, 79, 124, 125 and G.

And for trolley riders, all stations save for 15th Street station will be open Thursday.

  • All stations will be open except 15th Street station.
  • Trolley lines can handle nearly 40,000 riders a day.
  • Normal fares will be in place on 94 trolley cars, which have a capacity of 80 passengers each.

As for parking, SEPTA is urging customers who are planning to use rail services to arrange to be dropped off at or near their stations as parking will be limited at SEPTA stations and surrounding locations, and available spots are expected to fill up quickly.
