Cause Of Death For St Joe’s Student In Bermuda Released

Mark Dombroski was visiting Bermuda with St. Joseph's rugby club for a tournament. His cause of death has now been released by authorities.

PHILADELPHIA – Authorities in Bermuda said Thursday that 19-year-old St. Joseph's University freshman Mark Dombroski died from injuries suffered in a fall on March 18.

Forensic pathologist Dr. Christopher Milroy of Canada, who was called to Bermuda to perform the autopsy on Dombroski, said in a press conference Thursday there was no evidence of foul play during his postmortem examination.

However, police said they are continuing to investigate the case.

A toxicology report will be performed as per standard procedure with these types of incidents, authorities said.

During the press conference, authorities said Dombroski's body was found in a dry moat at the bottom of a 35-foot cliff in the Devonshire parish near the police headquarters on March 19.

Dombroski, who was was visiting the island for a rugby tournament with St. Joseph's rugby club, was last seen at about 1 a.m. on Sunday, March 18, at The Dog House pub in Hamilton, Bermuda, the nation's capital.

The club arrived in Bermuda Wednesday, March 14. Dombroski was slated to return to the United States Sunday with the club.
